I’ve learned in my life that if you give the body what the body needs it has the ability to look after itself. As well as giving the body what the body needs you have to get rid of what the body can’t utilize.
Juicing is an excellent way to give the body what the body needs!
What are the benefits of juicing? Let’s break down the benefits of the juice I made today. I took a half of a pineapple, quarter of a fresh papaya, it was a large papaya, 3 cups of baby spinage, 1 cup of a combination of parsley and cilantro. In total I had 4 cups of fruit and 4 cups of greens, 3 cups of water, 6 ice cubes. Today’s juice was made with my blender type of juicer therefore I was able to keep all of the fiber. In total there was 38 grams of fiber, 7 grams of protein with only 267 calories.
Were you surprised to read that the juice I made had protein in it? Most people don’t realize that fruit and vegetables have protein. Sometimes I add dates to my fresh juices. Dates are a whole food and high in protein. As well dates are a natural sweetener. I also add lecithin on a regular basis to my juices.
I use my blender type juicer on a daily basis, drinking at least 1 liter. When I travel, I put my large mason jar in a small cooler with an ice pack so there is no excuse for eating junk food on the road.
When I do an intense juicing program I use my juicer that eliminates the fiber and leaves just the juice. This type of juicing is for a deep detox and rebuilding. When doing a deep cleanse you want to eliminate the body having to work and juice allows the intestinal area and organs to cleanse and build instead of working.
Let’s get back to the benefits of juicing. Papaya is a great enzyme for digestion, in fact if you look at a digestive enzyme supplement, papaya will probably or should be one of the ingredients. Most people today have a compromised GI tract. The Gi tract starts in the stomach, which is suppose to break down the food, then into the small and large intestines which are suppose to transport the nutrients from your food into your blood stream. Juicing provides enzymes and your stomach doesn’t have to work as hard to break your food down because it is always broken down, it’s juice, it’s liquefied. Since the food is broken down it is easier for the intestinal tract to utilize the nutrients. You can eat what is considered good food but if your body can not absorb it what good is it to your body?
When people are ill or aged and don’t have a lot of energy, juicing is a great food for them to have.
Juicing is a great way to aid children in obtaining their proper nutrition also. Even if you freeze the juice in ice cube trays there are still nutritional benefits and 100% better then sugary, processed, junk food.
There are a lot of books written on juicing and especially on juicing and cancer.
